10 Festivals. 1 Free State.

PorcFest kicks off in two weeks.
Here are a few things we are reporting on in this week’s Porcupine Post:

  • In Two Weeks, Build “Spontaneous Order” with us at PorcFest XXIII. For one week, choose your own adventure across ten festivals throughout the regions of the Free State.
  • Outreach Never Stops. In just the last few weeks, the FSP has connected with hundreds of liberty lovers across Michigan, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Maine
  • Want to Run for Office? — Check out this Guide to Consider Running for State Representative from our friends at the NH Liberty Alliance.
  • Have You Signed? Declare “I am a Free Stater!” when you sign the newly revised FSP Statement of Intent.
  • Many Opportunities to Visit this Spring and Summer. Come see what we’re building in the Free State, including the NH Liberty Dinner and FreedomPalooza  music festival this July.
  • A Porcupine Patron Update. Thank you to all 326 Porcupine Patrons that fund our year-round mission. Become a patron!

Spontaneous Order Emerges for PorcFest in 2 Weeks

We are building it. Will you come?

This year, the Porcupine Freedom Festival is fully decentralized with ten mini-festivals and even more solo events across the many regions of the Free State.
Take a look and choose your own adventure.

How will you begin the week?

On Sunday, will you choose to enjoy the Welcome Market at QuillFest — featuring local vendors, handpan music, and a fine talk by Ian Underwood.

Or will you kick off the week on a physically challenging group hike with the Garnet Ruck Club.

Our friends at the Quill in Manchester (the longest running Free State clubhouse) are planning a full week of activities to welcome visitors and Free Staters.

Stop by for their daily welcome wagons and scheduled opportunities for activism, creative arts, poker, and soapbox rants.

Our friends with the Garnet Ruck Club are planning some serious hikes to bookend this year’s Porcupine Freedom Festival. Participants are encouraged to be prepared for a strenuous, multi-mile hike through a beautiful stretch of New Hampshire. Bring plenty of water, appropriate attire, and extra weight to carry as desired for rucking intensity.
Final details are TBA.
Keep watch for more information.

As the week begins, what will you choose?
On Monday, will you take the kids to the Family Freedom Field Day — featuring outdoor games, hands-on activities (including a mock legislature for older kids and teens), and the kind of freedom-minded community your kids love?

Or will you head to The Dhomes for the beginning of Jay Noone’s week-long Man Camp — to practice skills in blacksmithing and animal butchering.

On Monday, June 22, bring the whole family to Pawtuckaway Park for “Family Freedom Field Day,” hosted by our friends at Latitude Learning Resource Center.

Tickets are required.

Join Jay Noone for his annual “Man Camp” at the Dhomes to learn and practice real skills — from blacksmithing to animal processing — in community with others.

Will you join me for the Weare Fair on Tuesday — as I lead a dialogue on stoicism and teach a workshop for liberty candidates? Will you stay over for an action-packed Wednesday of hiking, music, and bottle rockets?
Thursday morning, if you are a visitor to the Free State, will you visit the Independence Inn to learn “Ten Things You Can’t Understand ‘Til You Move Here?”

Brian Becker is hosting the “Weare Fair” in Weare, NH — the town where the American revolution truly began.

On Saturday, will you find yourself down south in Windham for a Mises Institute conversation on the broken healthcare system?

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, the Pine Clubhouse is hosting NorthFest.

This three-day celebration in Lancaster will feature plentiful food, music, workshops, dancing, and good liberty-loving company.

Tickets are required for select evening events. Other events are open throughout the day.

Outreach Never Stops
Over the last few weeks, our FSP Outreach team has been traveling quite a bit — connecting with liberty lovers and inviting them to visit New Hampshire.Recently, I joined many Free Staters in Grand Rapids, Michigan for the Libertarian Party National Convention.
LP National 02.jpeg
Outreach to the National Libertarian Party Convention. Thank you to all who helped out with outreach at the 2026 LP National Convention in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
While there, I held a breakout session with those curious about the Free State and the effectiveness of the libertarian concentration strategy. While the LP national strategy has failed to produce victories for the liberty movement, the Free State Project has stacked up win after win for the last 25 years.I shared why I left Maine and moved to New Hampshire: because I did not wish to go down with the ship and I wanted to be somewhere my efforts would make a long-term difference.LP National 04.jpg

Move to NH. Free Staters Skot and Reinita encourage national LP delegates to make the move and join the most effective liberty movement in our lifetime.
As our FSP Outreach Team has grown, we have been able to take on more opportunities to connect with outside liberty lovers than ever before. In recent weeks, outreach volunteers have covered events in all three adjacent states: the Vermont GOP Convention, the New England Firearms Advocacy Conference in Massachusetts, and the Biddeford Gun Show in Maine.

New England Firearms Advocacy Conference 01.jpeg
New England Firearms Advocacy Conference in Massachusetts. Rep. Tom Mannion and Jen McKenna run an FSP outreach table — letting everyone know that the only state in New England that still protects your 2A rights is the Free State of New Hampshire.

Speaking up for the Free State. Tom Mannion was a panelist at the New England Firearms Advocacy Conference. He ended saying: “If you live in NH, run for office, if you can’t do that then donate time or money to a candidate, and if you don’t live in NH – move there!”
Biddeford Gun Show 02.jpeg
Biddeford Gun Show – Day 1. Thank you to Jesse for covering our first day of outreach to gun owners in Southern Maine.

Biddeford Gun Show – Day 2. Thank you to Matt & Curt for covering our second day of outreach in Maine — where a new “Red Flag” gun confiscation law was recently enacted, pushing more who value their self-defense rights to consider moving to the Free State of New Hampshire.

Free State Voices
Porcupine Report #115: “The Neocons Strike Back” with Paul Dans
Eric talks with Paul Dans about the future of the conservative movement, the influence of the administrative state, and the ongoing debate over America’s role in the world. They explore the rise of populist politics, tensions within the Republican Party, and the challenges of translating political victories into lasting institutional change. The discussion also examines the relationship between grassroots activism, government power, and efforts to reshape federal bureaucracy. Along the way, they reflect on political realignment, candidate recruitment, and the broader movement for liberty in both New Hampshire and beyond.

The Day the GOP Killed Liberty: Why Massie’s Defeat Is Good News | The Independents
Thomas Massie — one of the last consistent anti-war, pro-liberty voices in Congress — was just obliterated in his primary by Trump, massive pro-Israel donor money, and the new hawkish GOP machine. On paper, it looks like a total defeat. But in reality, this “massacre” is one of the most clarifying and valuable things that could have happened to the Free State Project and anyone serious about real freedom.

Porcupine Report #114: “Are You Smarter Than A Politician?
Eric shares a recent appearance alongside Carla Gericke and Jason Sorens on the political game show “Are You Smarter Than a Politician?”, where the conversation turns into a fast-moving debate about liberty, decentralization, surveillance, gun rights, free speech, and the future of America. Blending humor, audience interaction, and political philosophy, the episode explores why New Hampshire has become a focal point for the liberty movement and whether local communities can outcompete centralized power. It’s part debate, part comedy, and part philosophical clash over who should really hold power in modern America.

Porcupine Report #113: “Quill History and PorcFest Today” with William Kostric
Eric sits down with William Kostric, co-founder of The Quill, to talk about the early days of the Free State movement and how one underground liberty clubhouse helped shape a growing network of communities across New Hampshire. William also shares stories from the history of The Quill, including its survival through COVID, the “Save the Quill” effort, and the challenges of building decentralized communities. The episode closes with a preview of PorcFest’s new “Spontaneous Order” format, highlighting events happening across the state and the evolving future of the liberty movement in New Hampshire.

Free State Barbell Club Wins Fire Truck Pull for Charity. Members of Free State Barbell Club in Manchester recently competed in a charity fire truck pulling competition benefiting Less Legs, More Heart, an organization that supports new amputees and their families. Free State Barbell Club took first place in the team competition, and gym members also finished first and second in the individual truck pull event.
