The Granite Freedom Trek is a signature Free State Project experience designed for prospective movers, visitors, and liberty-minded adventurers. Join us for a guided hike to the summit of Mount Pierce, one of New Hampshire’s iconic 4,000-foot peaks, followed by a private after-party at Basecamp Brewing in Lincoln.
Whether you’re visiting for the weekend or seriously considering a move, this is your opportunity to experience New Hampshire beyond the brochures. Hike with Free Staters, ask questions, make connections, and discover why thousands have chosen to build their lives in the Granite State.
Event Schedule
8:00 AM – Meet at the Mount Pierce Trailhead
8:15 AM sharp – Guided hike begins
1:30 PM – Return to trailhead (approximate)
2:00 PM – 5:00 PM – Private After-Party at Basecamp Brewing, Lincoln
Enjoy great food, local craft beer, and relaxed conversation with Free Staters from across New Hampshire. This is the perfect opportunity to ask questions about relocating, careers, schools, communities, and what life in the Free State is really like.

Early Bird registration saves $10 and helps us finalize catering and T-shirt orders. Space is limited to ensure a great experience for everyone, and advance registration is required.

Where to Meet for the Hike: 8AM
Physical Address/Navigation Target: For mapping, you can set your destination to the AMC Highland Center at 1049 US-302, Carroll, NH. The main hiker parking lot and Crawford Connector Trailhead are directly on Mt. Clinton Road, just off Route 302.
From the junction of Routes 3 and 302 in Twin Mountain, drive 8.2 miles east on Route 302. Turn onto Mt. Clinton Road (which leaves Route 302); the main dirt parking lot is immediately on your left.
