Hey PorcFest! Brian Becker here...

I'd like to help clear up any conspiracy theories and try to mediate peace as we attempt to quickly herd cats for our next PorcFest. We just finished an incredible Liberty Forum, where Carla announced that PorcFest has expanded. As with every change, this made some heads explode... and the rumors and opinions start churning.

Roger's Campground

After over 20 years of hosting our group, the FSP leadership was unable to come to agreeable terms with Crosby on hosting PorcFest at Roger's again this year. I was not involved in the conversations, but I know he had taken a lot of abuse with a few of the attendees last year. There were no winners in losing Rogers, but I'm sure he will appreciate the peace this year. There will still at least be camping, and a unifying group photo on Saturday. Roger's has full control over what happens that week, so if we're good to them we might even see a bonfire one night.

PorcFest at the fairground

We attempted to negotiate a contract with a fairgrounds in NH to host us this year, but that could not be completed in time due to the town's involvement and other restrictions. What others? I don't know, nor is it important. The later dates were chosen with that in mind.

I personally wasn't involved, but I know that Jamie worked her ass off to try to find and secure a replacement venue. 🙏❤️🙏 Losing that was disappointing, but I am certain it was for the best.

PorcFest Decentralized!

About a week ago, an idea was proposed to hold PorcFest in New Hampshire. In ALL of New Hampshire.

This has been a vision of mine for years, especially after seeing the amazing scheduling system and decentralized hubs of 2024.

Why draw imaginary lines around where we're gathering? The tech was capable of scaling out to the entire state, so why are we limiting ourselves?

As the dates got close, an announcement was vital, and decisions were made to just decentralize it.

...and I have been preparing for this my whole life!!! 💫

Decentralized hubs offering their own independent events for the rest of the world to experience life in New Hampshire. The work typically required to bring our club to PorcFest could instead be spent building our own version of PorcFest to show off at our own club!

THIS WILL BE AMAZING if you want it.

I want it.

And much of the effort is on my shoulders.

I have the coolest hub, in the coolest town.

I'm developing and hosting the website for the schedule, and managing the tickets.

I have a home at Roger's, and I'm friends with the owner.

I'm managing and moderating half of the groups on Telegram.

I also plan to interconnect the clubs for video conference and live streaming.

Annnd... now I'm a meditator.

Are you seeing the centralization and dependence? I feel it

As an empath (also INTP), I try to avoid other peoples drama. I'll read about it occasionally, and sometimes offer to help develop solutions, but I have never seen value in feeding trolls. I'm an open book with my own life, and anyone can ask me anything. I recently read that some empaths are more inclined to just keep quiet and take names. Yes.

Hater's gonna hate, and Statists gonna state.

Wanna help?

Build something. Find a club and ask how you can best support them. Volunteer for one of our many organizations working toward freedom. Find a need and fill it. Find your purpose. Form a team.

The people in the FSP are working tirelessly to keep the vehicle alive.

The porcupines in the Free State are the ones building our community.

Attracting freedom to New Hampshire is the main goal, and everything we build is another critical tool to help us do that.

Freedom, Decentralization, and Unity

Ross sang these words of freedom at the Bitcoin Conference after being freed from his cage of 12 years.

This is what it takes, to win.

We're blazing a new trail in New Hampshire and we need all the help we can get.

PorcFest has always been a festival of Freedom and Unity... And now it's Decentralized!

Let's showcase our communities as a beacon of hope to the world. 💫 ✌️🦔

Intentional Communities are attractive to many new movers as an option to participate in community with others.

IC.org created a foundation to organize communities around the world, and have many listings of existing NH IC's (Not related to the FSP).

https://www.ic.org/directory/find/?community_status=&search=NH

There are many Porcupine run micro communities within the Free State that are not listed in the directory. They can offer friends the opportunities of co-housing on operational farms, living off grid, building independence and self sustainability, growing your food, and raising livestock.

Numerous discussion groups have been formed over the years, and many conversations have been had about forming our own Intentional Community in New Hampshire.

Hello friends,

I'm an early mover (2009) but moved away from NH to follow a job a few years later. Once upon a time, I worked with Ian and others on the FreeKeene forum drafting "The Shire Society Declaration." I would like to try to take that idea to the next level now and make the Shire a real place that people can go to in New Hampshire. A new type of city-state, like Monaco (only 499 acres) or Vatican City (109 acres), but with a high level of trust among all who go there. A safe, prosperous, community, all without ever claiming a monopoly on violence. The world's first decentralized, self-governed, self-sufficient, voluntaryist intentional community. The community would be centered around an organic dairy farm.

400 members x $25,000 = $10m should be enough money to buy land and get the dairy farm up and running and get site planning/zoning approvals to start the development. Three separate legal entities would be established: The Shire Dairy Farm LLC; The Shire HOA and The Shire Land Trust. The land is divided into three or more pieces depending on the purpose of the land. The farm land would be owned by the LLC (of which all members are owners and share in the profits and losses). The Shire HOA governs all residential/commercial land which will be deeded to the individual members subject to the rules of the Shire HOA. The HOA is run by all members (or their delegates) on a consensus basis requiring members to adhere to the NAP with respect to their conduct in the Shire and with respect to all other members whether in or out of the Shire. The recreational/park land is deeded to the Land Trust which holds it for the benefit of all the members.

The Shire is a private, high trust community and not open to the public, unless the members agree to allow visitors. I envision small neighborhoods of about 50 homes (in the style of the eco-villages near Ithaca NY) designed to emphasize foot and bicycle traffic in the summer and skis/sleds/snowshoes in winter. Minimal roadways and a "downtown" area (pedestrian) with an auditorium/performance venue/meeting house, shared library/workspace, community kitchen with commercial uses, and a gym/spa/health building.

That's the basic setup. I would love to hear any feedback. I hope we can make this a reality. TIA for your sincere, good faith participation!
